Entry Point – First Week

IEYC Entry Point week, the beginning of a new IEYC learning journey with the topic Going Places, helps children gain new vocabulary about means of transport and become familiar with the theme of the new learning unit.

Children can participate in many joyful games related to different kinds of transportation, gain a lot of knowledge, and practice motor skills.

Race on balance bikes: Small groups of excited students ride the bikes on the simulated lanes to the finish line, which is not only fun but also helps the children practice balance, control, and adjust speed and directions. Moreover, it educates the children about friendly competitiveness.

Throwing Paper Airplanes – Children are engrossed in playing with miniature paper airplanes, throwing them flying through round holes to score points. The game is challenging but brings a lot of fun. Children can practice the ability to aim at a target and the flexibility of their wrists to throw planes that fly high and far. Besides, children can also discover an exciting science: airplanes are air vehicles that travel in the air, and thanks to the wings helping create lift, paper airplanes can fly beautifully in the air.

Boat racing – The boats are handmade by the teachers, arousing the curiosity of the young kids. “Whooshing”, the children wave paper fans to blow the wind and make the paper boats move to the other side of the pool. Everyone is so happy and excited. The children explore that the boats move because of the force of wind and/or water.
