Today’s WIS classroom looks so different. WIS teachers have turned the student’s classroom into a lovely bedroom.
Do you know what topic WIS children are learning about today? It is about bedtime routines before we go to bed.
Do you know?
- A good bedtime routine gives children a good quality sleep by helping them relax their body and mind and enabling them to fall asleep independently. Besides ensuring children get a good night’s sleep, good bedtime habits also teach children how to take care of themselves, helping to improve working memory, mood, attention, and cognitive skills.
- Establishing a bedtime routine for children helps strengthen the family bond between parents and children and positively impacts children’s home education. When children sleep enough and deeply, they will feel ready to start the school day with their teachers and friends. Moreover, they will also give better academic performance.
- Without a bed routine, children can have sleep problems and serious diseases such as being overweight or obese.
- Some bedtime habits that children need to practice include:
-
- Go to bed early and at a certain time.
- Brushing teeth and going to the bathroom before getting on the bed
- Parents should spend time talking, cuddling, reading books, or singing lullabies to their children.
- Drink milk before going to bed. It helps children fall asleep more easily.
Teaching children about a bedtime routine right from preschool age is necessary. Therefore, after today’s lesson, WIS teachers hope the children will maintain a healthy bedtime routine until they become adults!
